The prosecutor's office asks to take ex-military commissar Borisov into custody with a bail of 142 million hryvnias

The prosecutor's office, at the request of the SBI, appealed to the court regarding the application of a preventive measure in the form of detention and the setting of bail in the amount of 142 million hryvnias for the former military commissar of Odesa, Yevhen Borisov.

This information was provided to the SBI.

"Arrest and bail in the amount of 142 million hryvnias," the agency reported.

The petition of the DBR was sent to the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv. The court session will be held today, May 30.

The State Bureau of Investigation detained Yevhen Borysov, the former head of the Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Staffing and Social Support. The arrest took place when Borisov was released from the pretrial detention center, where he was held after bail was posted for him.

Earlier, Borisov was informed of the suspicion of committing crimes under the articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: acquisition by a person authorized to perform state functions of assets whose value exceeds legal income (Article 368-5); absenteeism for duty without valid reasons during wartime (Article 407, Part 5); in evading military service obligations (Article 409, Part 4).

On July 20, 2023, the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NACP) established the facts of the illegal enrichment of the former Odesa military commissar Yevhen Borisov in the amount of 188 million hryvnias.
