In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the head of the "Probation Center" department was exposed for demanding $21,500 from a wounded soldier to secure his release from service.
According to the investigation, the man went through the most dangerous parts of the front, received three concussions and began undergoing a military medical examination. Despite serious health problems, doctors refused to declare him unfit for further service.
The soldier told an acquaintance about the situation, who suggested that he contact his girlfriend, who could “help.” The woman openly stated that the combat experience and injuries were “worthless,” and named the amount – $21,500.
Law enforcement officers detained the suspect and informed her of suspicion of committing a crime under the articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding extortion of unlawful benefit.
The investigation is ongoing, all circumstances of the case and possible accomplices are being established.
