Prosecutor of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor's Office Olga Veselovska found herself at the center of disciplinary proceedings for refusing to undergo a repeated medical examination. She stated that she no longer considers herself a person with a disability, despite the fact that she had previously registered for a second group and continued it through the local MSEK.
The situation is related to the investigation of possible abuses in the process of registering disability for officials through the medical and social expert commission, which was headed by Tetyana Krupa. It was through this MSEC that Veselovska received a disability group in 2019. After Krupa's scheme was exposed, the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of Prosecutors (QDCP) obliged Veselovska to undergo a re-examination.
However, the prosecutor ignores the request and states that her disability period has already ended, and now she does not need confirmation. The KDKP believes that such behavior discredits the prosecutor and harms the authority of the prosecutor's office, because an official must demonstrate transparency and responsibility.
Veselovska has been working in the prosecutor's office since 2005, and has headed the land relations department since 2021. She currently does not admit any violations and insists that the matter concerns her private circumstances.
This case is already being compared to another disciplinary case — concerning the prosecutor of the Cherkasy region, Natalia Lenkova, who was punished for evading the commission's requirements. Experts emphasize that such incidents can affect public trust in the justice system.
