The Supreme Court of Ukraine confiscated assets worth UAH 1.64 million from the prosecutor

The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court has ruled to confiscate part of the property of a prosecutor of one of the departments of the Prosecutor General's Office. The assets amounting to UAH 1.64 million were seized, which the court found unfounded.

The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption established that the official received a gift of about UAH 1.95 million from her mother to buy an apartment. At the same time, an analysis of her mother's income and expenses showed that she could not have accumulated most of this amount legally.

Thus, according to the NACP, it was UAH 1.64 million that did not have a confirmed legal origin. Based on this, the court ruled to confiscate them as state revenue in accordance with Article 290 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine.

The decision may be appealed within 30 days from the date of preparation of the full text.
