In 2024, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted Bill No. 4201, which provided for the abolition of clock changes and the establishment of a single time zone throughout the country throughout the year. However, despite the fact that the law was supported by the parliament, the President of Ukraine never signed this bill. This means that the issue of clock changes remains open, and the transition to summer time in 2025 is likely.
The bill abolishing daylight saving time has already been passed by the Verkhovna Rada. However, there is a caveat – for it to come into force, the president must sign the document. His team assumes that Volodymyr Zelensky will not sign the document. However, the time for vetoing the law has also passed.
The traditional day when clocks are switched to daylight saving time is the last Sunday in March. If nothing changes and Volodymyr Zelenskyy does not sign the law by this date, then on March 30 at 3:00 we will move the clocks forward 1 hour . This means that we will sleep an hour less.
On smartphones and other electronic devices, the transition will occur automatically. Mechanical watches and old push-button telephones will have to be transferred manually. In tickets and timetables, the time will be indicated taking into account the transfer of the hands.
