The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption has identified possible signs of illicit enrichment in the state inspector of the customs post "Tysa" in Transcarpathia. This is stated in the results of a full check of his property status.
According to the agency, the total value of assets, the legality of which is in doubt, exceeds 23 million hryvnias. The key object is a land plot with an area of about 1.6 thousand square meters with a residential building of almost 330 square meters in Uzhgorod. Formally, the real estate is registered in the name of the official's mother, however, as the NACP established, in fact it is used by the customs officer himself together with his family.
In addition, the inspection showed that the inspector's wife purchased a Skoda Kodiaq car in 2024. An analysis of the family's financial situation did not confirm the presence of sufficient legal income to make such a purchase.
The NACP notes that a comparison of the official income and expenses of the official and his relatives does not allow explaining the origin of the identified assets. In particular, the loans referred to by the customs officer's relatives do not have proper financial justification, and their conditions and sources of funds contain signs of fictitiousness.
The inspection materials may become the basis for further legal assessment by law enforcement agencies. If the NACP's conclusions are confirmed, this will lead to criminal liability for illicit enrichment.
