In the capital, law enforcement officers have sent an indictment to court against a state registrar from the Kyiv region, who is suspected of illegally re-registering ownership of a communal land plot. The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office .
According to the investigation, the woman used a knowingly forged state act of ownership of land and registered the plot in the name of a fictitious person. This is communal land in the Svyatoshynskyi district worth over 1.5 million UAH. The new owner was a fellow villager of the accused.
The registrar's actions were qualified under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: fraud on an especially large scale, unauthorized interference in the operation of automated systems, and abuse of the powers of a state registrar.
To prevent further alienation of the property, the land plot was seized. In addition, the prosecutor filed a civil lawsuit to compensate the state for damages in the amount of UAH 1.5 million.
The case has now been referred to the court, which will determine the extent of the defendant's liability if she is proven guilty.
