SBU and police detained a doctor for taking a bribe of $7,000

In Odessa, law enforcement officers detained a doctor who demanded a bribe of $7,000 for processing documents that would allow him to receive a deferment from conscription.

According to the investigation, a 26-year-old man turned to a medical professional for help in resolving the issue of deferment. The doctor estimated his services at $7,000.

During a personal meeting, he received the first part of the amount – $4,000 – after which he was immediately detained by law enforcement officers. Investigative actions are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the case and possible other participants in the scheme.

Law enforcement officers emphasize that such actions are punishable by law and that bribery is punishable by criminal liability.
