The Security Service of Ukraine reported the detention of a 21-year-old resident of Kremenchuk, suspected of espionage for the Russian Federation. According to the SBU, the girl acted as part of an agent network that transmitted data to the enemy for missile and air strikes on the Poltava region.
As it turned out, in November 2024, the SBU had already exposed two FSB agents who were coordinating hostile attacks in the region. The current detainee was their accomplice. After the group was exposed, it temporarily "fell to the bottom." But later it received a signal from a curator from the Russian Federation and resumed its subversive activities.
One of the agent's tasks was to determine the number of personnel in the local law enforcement agency's administrative building. To do this, she installed a hidden video camera with remote access that transmitted images directly to Russian intelligence services.
In addition, it was tasked with calculating the combat positions of Ukrainian air defense radars. According to the SBU, the occupiers hoped to gather information to “bypass” air defenses and hit targets more accurately.
During the searches, the detainee's computer equipment and mobile phone, from which she contacted the curator and transmitted reports, were seized.
The woman is charged with treason during martial law, one of the most serious crimes. The penalty is life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The investigation is ongoing.
