The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has exposed two women in the Chernihiv region who were acting in favor of Russian military intelligence. According to the SBU, the suspects in the case were residents of the Pryluky district, who were recruited by the Russian special service through Telegram channels, looking for a “quick profit.” Their main task was to collect and transmit the coordinates of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the Chernihiv and Kyiv regions.
To ensure the secrecy of communication with the Russian curator, the agents communicated through the accounts of their relatives. They also planned to install hidden video cameras near Defense Forces facilities to transmit intelligence. The traitors also aimed to determine the movement routes and positions of mobile fire groups that guard the airspace of northern Ukraine.

Thanks to the timely work of the SBU counterintelligence, the agents were detained before they had time to purchase the necessary video surveillance devices. During the search, mobile phones containing evidence of their work for the Russian GRU were seized from the detainees. Both women were reported for suspicion under Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason under martial law).
They are currently in custody and face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
