In Vinnytsia region, law enforcement officers have exposed a deputy company commander who organized a scheme to illegally grant "vacations" to servicemen for money. This was reported by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Defense of the Southern Region.
According to the investigation, during July-August 2025, the suspect, without legal grounds, allowed subordinates to temporarily not perform military service duties. Servicemen could leave the unit and actually be outside the place of duty.
To conceal her illegal activities, during daily inspections, she entered false data into her official documentation, stating that the military was allegedly in the unit.
For the opportunity to temporarily not report for duty, servicemen paid 500 hryvnias for each day of absence. The money was transferred to the suspect's bank card depending on the number of days during which the serviceman was actually absent from the unit.
According to preliminary estimates, the woman received about 30 thousand hryvnias of illegal profit in this way.
The deputy company commander was reported under suspicion under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. These include receiving an illegal benefit by an official, committed repeatedly, as well as facilitating the unauthorized abandonment of the place of service by servicemen by prior conspiracy by a group of persons under martial law.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Vinnytsia region. Operational support is provided by employees of the Strategic Investigations Department, the Military Counterintelligence Department of the Security Service of Ukraine.
If proven guilty, the suspect could face serious criminal liability.
