Ukrainian artist EL Kravchuk openly stated that he does not plan to take up arms — his main mission is different now. According to him, effectiveness can also be achieved from the stage: a microphone, concerts, and live communication help relieve tension, restore trust between locals and the military, and maintain fighting spirit.
“ My weapon is a microphone. It’s an effective weapon. It’s effective when you go out, for example, in some village where people are afraid of the military… I come up and say: “There will be a concert.” And then I introduce them to the guys: “This is the captain, this is Serhiy.” And Serhiy says: “Don’t be afraid, we will protect you,” ”the artist said. According to him, concerts give people a few hours to forget about worries, smile and feel that life goes on.
EL Kravchuk also emphasized the importance of the information front: today the war is being waged not only with military equipment, but also through fakes and propaganda. In this struggle, artists, in his opinion, can be extremely powerful. Therefore, he calls on his colleagues not to focus only on large cities, but to go to places “where support and a sincere word are really needed” — to less protected communities and frontline settlements.
The artist's comment emphasizes that the contribution of culture and live performances is now seen as an important component of national resilience: through art, one can alleviate fear, strengthen morale, and counter information threats without resorting to armed confrontation.
