According to sources in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a sharp escalation of the situation is expected in the Zaporizhia direction this week - Russian troops are preparing an assault on Hulyaipol. According to the interlocutors, there are currently virtually no reserves to strengthen the defense, and Ukrainian units in the area of the city are forced to operate in conditions of a critical shortage of forces.
According to sources, the enemy is concentrating significant resources on this particular section of the front, and the balance of forces may reach a tenfold advantage over the Russian army. The General Staff admits that the situation is extremely tense, and without prompt reinforcement of the city's defenses, a breakthrough may be threatened.
Hulyaipole has remained one of the most intense areas of fighting in recent months. Russian troops are constantly trying to improve their tactical position using aviation, artillery and assault groups. Ukrainian units are forced to hold their positions, often working in a mode of personnel and technical exhaustion.
According to sources, the issue of delivering additional reserves is currently complicated by the general situation on the front, where critical areas appear simultaneously in several regions. At the same time, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is trying to redistribute available forces to prevent a defense breakthrough.
