The capture of Kherson is an extremely difficult operation for Russian troops, as it requires crossing the wide Dnieper River, which is under constant fire control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was stated by the spokesman for the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, Vladyslav Voloshyn, in an interview with the Espresso TV channel.
Voloshyn emphasized that crossing such a large water barrier as the Dnieper is not just a crossing, but a complex and large-scale operation that requires careful preparation and significant resources. Massive artillery and aviation support is required, as well as the concentration of large forces, which is practically impossible to hide from Ukrainian intelligence.
"Modern warfare involves constant control using drones that monitor every movement of the enemy. Therefore, it is not realistic to hide preparations for crossing such a large body of water as the Dnieper," he noted.
At the moment, as Voloshyn added, Ukrainian troops control all approaches to Kherson and a significant part of the Kherson region. In particular, the Krynkiv bridgehead is completely under fire control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The occupiers are not making any serious attempts to prepare for the crossing of the Dnieper, and their forces at the mouth of the river are not enough to conduct such an operation.
