The State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection has published the results of state supervision in the field of housing and communal services for the first 9 months of 2025. During the indicated period, 325 unscheduled inspections of business entities were carried out, of which violations were detected in 302 cases (92.9%).
Based on the results of the inspections, 198 decisions were made to apply administrative and economic sanctions for a total amount of UAH 2.5 million and 210 instructions were issued to eliminate violations and bring tariffs into line with the legislation. In addition, 62 officials were held administratively liable; fines in the amount of UAH 130.1 thousand were imposed.
According to the regulations and decisions, the service is obliged to return a total of UAH 3.2 million to consumers. Separately, the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection noted a decisive example in the city of Mykolaiv: following numerous complaints from residents, unscheduled inspections of one of the service providers were carried out, as a result of which the company made transfers to consumers in the amount of more than UAH 50 million.
The report notes that the main violations concerned the non-compliance of tariffs with the legislation, failure to provide quality services, non-compliance with technological standards, and violations in the area of settlements with subscribers. The State Service for the Protection of Consumer Rights calls on citizens to continue reporting violations and using consumer protection tools.
