Acting Deputy Head of the Main Department of the State Tax Service in Kyiv, Chief Inspector Oleksandr Babyatynskyi, declared significant assets, including several real estate properties, cryptocurrency, and cash — despite modest official income and the fact that his wife Yulia is listed as unemployed.
This was reported by the editorial office of 368.media, referring to the declaration he submitted.
According to the documents, the tax officer's wife owns warehouses in Odessa with an area of 447 sq.m., two land plots in the Ovidiopol community and the Kherson region, and has the right to use another apartment in Odessa. Oleksandr Babyatynskyi purchased a new apartment in 2023 for 650 thousand UAH, as well as a non-residential premises with an area of 5 sq.m. for 50 thousand UAH.
In addition, he owns a premium car, the Infiniti QX60 (2018 model), purchased for UAH 448,000.
The total family income for 2024 is UAH 782 thousand. Of which:
-
Babyatynsky himself received a salary of 584 thousand UAH from the tax service of the Odessa region,
-
his wife – 189 thousand UAH in the charity fund “IsraAID Ukraine” and another 9 thousand UAH – as assistance at the birth of a child.
The declaration also indicates considerable cash savings: 500 thousand hryvnias, 15 thousand euros and 10 thousand dollars. Babyatynsky also declared a portfolio of cryptocurrencies purchased through Binance in 2022, with a total value at the time of purchase of about 29 thousand UAH.
Among the crypto assets:
-
Ethereum, Solana, Dogecoin, Cardano, Litecoin, Bitcoin,
-
and smaller positions: IOTA, AKRO, STEEM, DOT.
Against the backdrop of the general anti-corruption background in state bodies, this declaration raises questions - in particular, regarding the sources of financing of the property registered in the name of the wife, who is not officially employed. So far, the NACP and other regulatory bodies have not announced the start of the inspection.
