The former head of one of the departments of the Main Directorate of the State Tax Service in Zaporizhia region was exposed for concealing significant assets and attempting to illegally leave Ukraine, the State Bureau of Investigation reported.
According to the investigation, during the full-scale war, the official purchased real estate in Bulgaria, in one of the popular resorts. In 2024, she registered an apartment for her minor daughter with an area of 103.4 sq. m. worth almost 4 million hryvnias. After this operation, the woman was exempt from the tax and filed a declaration, but hid in it the fact of the child's presence and her ownership of foreign real estate.
SBI investigators established that immediately after her release, the former official planned to leave Ukraine. Bureau employees were aware of her intention and prevented her escape.
The woman was informed of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code - intentional submission of false information to the declaration of a person authorized to perform state or local government functions.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. According to the State Bureau of Investigation, data on other real estate abroad, which may be registered in the name of the official's close relatives and valued at millions of hryvnias, is being verified.
