Ukrainian blogger Kateryna Ostapchuk, wife of TV presenter and showman Volodymyr Ostapchuk, five months after the birth of her first child, spoke openly about her childbirth experience for the first time. In a Telegram channel, she admitted that she had a planned cesarean section due to a rare congenital pathology - a bicornuate uterus.
According to Kateryna, the operation began without complications: the boy named Timofey was taken out of the womb quite quickly. But unexpectedly, during the final stage, the doctors were unable to sew the suture. According to her, for about 40 minutes, the doctors tried to complete the operation, but in vain - the anatomical features of the cervical canal interfered.
“After another failed attempt, my doctor said: ‘There’s no time, we need to make a decision.’ It was decided to sew it up and have a follow-up examination later. It turned out that this is a feature of my structure,” the blogger wrote.
At that time, Volodymyr Ostapchuk was in another ward with his newborn son. He told his wife that he was very scared because of the delay, because the doctors entered the operating room one after another. According to the showman, he even started praying, not knowing what was happening.
Fortunately, a postpartum ultrasound revealed no life-threatening consequences. Kateryna and her son are now doing well, and the blogger decided to share her story to support women who also face complications during childbirth.
