The United States has stopped sharing intelligence with Ukraine, a Ukrainian source told Sky News. Previously, there was talk of only a “selective” suspension of data sharing, including information that could be used for attacks on Russian territory. However, the source recently stated that the entire flow of intelligence between the countries has been stopped.
In turn, US National Security Advisor Michael Waltz confirmed that the US had “taken a step back” in relations with Ukraine, and CIA Director John Ratcliffe noted that the suspension of aid was a “pause.” He specified that American intelligence and military assistance could be restored when US President Donald Trump sees that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is serious about peace and is ready for negotiations.
Ratcliffe also said that the pause in intelligence sharing is “a minefield,” and the United States will once again work side by side with Ukraine, as their cooperation is important in confronting Russian aggression. However, this requires that the Ukrainian side continue to demonstrate the seriousness of its intentions for peace.
This decision by the US raises concerns, especially among military experts, who note that even with European support, Ukraine will have difficulty compensating for the shortage of weapons. Earlier, The New York Times noted that although Europe promises assistance, it will be very difficult to quickly fill the gap in weapons supplies.
People's Deputy Roman Kostenko also expressed his opinion on this situation, emphasizing that Ukraine currently has a reserve of resources for several months, but without US support, the situation may become more complicated.
