Ukraine has taken an active position in the Black Sea, seizing the initiative and becoming a key player in the region. This has become a turning point in the geopolitical dynamics of the maritime zone, and the Ukrainian Navy (Navy) has provided an explanation for this stage.
This was announced by the spokesman for the Naval Forces (Navy) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Dmytro Pletenchuk, during a telethon.
"This morning, we did not observe the presence of warships in either the Black or Azov Seas. First of all, this is due to the situation that has developed for the Russians in the Black Sea. This is a danger of the ships being destroyed. Therefore, accordingly, they are now trying to avoid going out to sea," Pletenchuk said.
In particular, as the spokesman noted, such behavior of the enemy may be connected with the presidential elections in Russia. The enemy does not want to spoil the picture with another destroyed ship.
According to Pletenchuk, small boats are currently being spotted in the Black Sea, which are mostly intended for work near the shore, for example, restoring boom barriers, or something similar.
As of 07:00, the Navy press service reports on 2 Kalibr cruise missile carriers that Russia has deployed to the Mediterranean Sea.
"In practice, this (the initiative on the side of Ukraine, - ed.) means that the enemy is in such a position that it is forced to seek countermeasures now in order to get out of this stalemate. In a fairly short time, they have lost three units thanks to the work of the Defense Forces. Therefore, accordingly, they are now in such a search for tactical solutions to avoid further losses," the Navy spokesman explained.
