US National Security Advisor Sullivan visited Kyiv yesterday, where he met with the head of the Ukrainian President's Office, Yermak.
Reuters reports this.
The Washington Post writes that Sullivan came to Kyiv to convince of Washington's support for Ukraine amid the delays in the US Congress' approval of a new request for military aid.
“We are confident that we will provide this assistance to Ukraine,” Sullivan was quoted as saying by the Washington Post.
At the same time, as Radio Liberty writes, he was unable to name specific dates for when this would happen.
“We are working to get this done as quickly as possible. President Biden is working on it every day to push this package through the House of Representatives, but I can’t make specific predictions,” the adviser said.
The US presidential administration is not yet ready to announce the supply of ATACMS missiles, but will continue efforts to support Ukraine.
This was stated in Kyiv by Biden's national security advisor Jake Sullivan.
He also could not answer when the US would announce continued military support.
“I’m not going to make predictions about when exactly it will be done, but we are working to get it done as soon as possible, and President Biden is working on it every day. But I can’t make a specific prediction today,” Sullivan said.
In addition, Sullivan considers Ukraine's victory to be its exit from the war as a sovereign, democratic, and free country, without mentioning the restoration of territorial integrity - that is, Ukraine's return to its 1991 borders.
He also said that “Russia has already lost this war” because the plans that Putin outlined at the beginning of the war “have not been implemented and never will be.”.
“We believe that Russia has already lost this war. What was Russia going to do? Wipe Ukraine off the map. Wipe the very idea of being Ukrainian from history. It has not succeeded,” Sullivan said.
