Polish President Andrzej Duda said there may be no clear winner in a war between Russia and Ukraine, as both sides will eventually be forced to make concessions, he said in an interview with Euronews .
"There has to be a compromise here. I mean that de facto, in order to achieve peace, in my opinion, we have to recognize that neither side will be able to declare victory in this war, because each side will have to give something up in some sense," Duda noted.
At the same time, he suggested that concessions could also apply to the Ukrainian side. "Ukraine will also have to make concessions in a certain sense... It will probably happen. But to what extent? I don't have an answer to that," the Polish president said.
Duda also expressed the opinion that it is the United States that will play a decisive role in ending the war, and in particular, Donald Trump personally, if he returns to power. In his opinion, only Washington is capable of effectively putting pressure on the Kremlin.
"As of today, I have come to a clear conclusion: there is no one but the United States who can stop Vladimir Putin... Only American pressure can truly end this war and help achieve peace," Duda stressed.
It is worth noting that Donald Trump himself has previously stated that achieving peace in Ukraine is his main foreign policy goal. However, in public statements he has repeatedly avoided a clear position on Crimea and emphasized that finding a common language with the Ukrainian side can be more difficult than with Russia.
