In Obukhiv, the water tariff increased several times and became a record in the region

At the Obukhov Village Council plenary session on August 22, 2025, deputies supported an increase in tariffs for water supply and wastewater from the municipal enterprise "Dobrobud". This decision came as a shock to residents: even taking into account 40% compensation from the budget, the price per cubic meter of water reached UAH 151.68.

For comparison: in the neighboring villages of Orilske and Partizanske, a cubic meter of water costs 16–19 UAH, and in some areas of the Dnipro River — 13–18 UAH. That is, residents of the Obukhiv community pay ten times more.

The situation is complicated by losses in the network: according to Dobrobud's calculations, out of 22.3 thousand cubic meters of produced water, more than half — 11.8 thousand — disappears in the pipes. At the same time, the water itself is rusty, supplied intermittently, and there is constantly a liquid in the basements that spoils property and even conducts electricity. People complain that household appliances break down because of this quality.

Residents are also outraged by the fact that there were no public discussions on raising tariffs. On August 8, 2025, residents of the “Ptakhofabrika” residential area independently organized a meeting, but the “Dobrobud” management did not reach out to the people. Despite the protests, the community actually finances the enterprise from the budget: each year, the AH plans to compensate over a million hryvnias “for rusty water.”

Financial audits also revealed blatant violations. Dobrobud paid for electricity from the budget (UAH 57.8 thousand), had no lease agreements, did not receive income, and even paid a fine of UAH 50 thousand for failing to meet the quota for employing people with disabilities. In 2025, the company's authorized capital was increased twice — first by UAH 1.09 million, then by another UAH 354 thousand.

Residents are demanding explanations from the authorities as to why, during wartime, they are being forced to pay exorbitant rates for services that do not even meet minimum standards in quality.
