The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center reports that this year's November in Ukraine will be mostly typical in terms of temperature indicators and precipitation levels. According to the forecast, the average monthly temperature in November will be 1-8°C, which is generally in line with long-term norms. Only in the east and southeast of the country can we expect slightly higher than normal temperatures. Precipitation is also forecast to be within normal limits - from 34 to 77 mm across the country, and in the Carpathians up to 100 mm may fall.
Climatologist Vera Balabukh adds that this year's winter also promises to be somewhat warmer than in previous years. According to her, the average temperature in winter may exceed the climate norm by 2°C, continuing the long-term warming trend, which is especially noticeable in the last 30 years. However, despite the general increase in temperature, sharp cooling caused by Arctic air masses is possible.
Balabukh notes that the coldest days are usually observed in the eastern regions and in the Carpathian highlands. However, she points out that it is currently impossible to predict the exact locations and intensity of severe frosts.
Given the forecasts, Ukrainians can prepare for relatively calm weather in November and a warm winter, although they should also be prepared for temporary waves of Arctic cold.
