On Monday, January 12, the weather in Ukraine will remain consistently cold with no signs of warming. Frost will persist throughout the country, with daytime temperatures dropping to -10...-12 degrees in some places. At the same time, atmospheric fronts are gradually weakening, so the amount of precipitation will decrease, and even sunny clearings are possible in the southern and eastern regions.
Light snow is forecast this day mainly in the western regions. The center, south, and east of the country will spend Monday without significant precipitation, but with low temperatures.
In Kyiv, cloudy weather with clearings is expected. At night, the temperature will drop to -16°, during the day the air will warm up only to -8°. A similar picture will persist in most cities of the Right Bank.
In western Ukraine, the weather will be cold and mostly cloudy. In Lviv, Lutsk, Rivne, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Uzhhorod and Chernivtsi, the temperature is expected to be around -14...-16° at night, -8° during the day, with light snow possible.
In the central regions - Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Kropyvnytskyi and Poltava - frost will also persist from -15° at night to -6...-8° during the day. The sky will be mostly cloudy with periodic clearings.
In the north of the country, the coldest temperatures will be in Chernihiv and Sumy, where the night temperature will drop to -16°, and during the day it will be from -9 to -10°. In Kharkiv, the forecast is about -13° at night, and -5° during the day.
The southern regions and the Zaporizhia region will find themselves in a somewhat milder cold. In Odessa, Kherson, Mykolaiv and Zaporizhia, -11° is expected at night, -3 to -2° during the day. Cloudy weather with clearings without significant precipitation will prevail here.
In Crimea, in Simferopol, the temperature will range from -9° at night to -2° during the day. In Donetsk and Luhansk regions, in particular in Kramatorsk and Severodonetsk, cloudy weather will persist with night frosts down to -11° and daytime frosts down to -7...-9°.
Forecasters note that the current cold snap will continue in the coming days, so Ukrainians should prepare for stable winter conditions without a quick return of the thaw.
