The men's and women's national teams of Ukraine won the 6th round of the Chess Olympiad

Ukrainian chess players demonstrated a brilliant game at the 45th World Chess Olympiad, defeating both their men's and women's teams in the 6th round. These victories allowed both national teams to score 10 points after six rounds and share high places in the tournament table.

The tournament is currently taking place in Budapest, the Chess Federation of Ukraine reported.

The Ukrainian men's national team defeated Montenegro with a minimum score of 2.5:1.5, but controlled the course of the match, and the opponents had no chance to save. Ponomariov scored a decisive victory, while Volokitin, Ivanchuk and Onyshchuk ended the games in a draw.

The women's national team of Ukraine defeated Serbia - 3:1. The only regret of the day was Dolukhanova's defeat. But Osmak, Ushenina and Gaponenko won their matches.
