Despite positive changes in the economy, production in Ukraine remains 30% lower than before the Russian invasion in 2023, not keeping pace with the trend of GDP growth. The World Bank predicts that Ukraine's gross domestic product will increase by 3.2% in 2024 and by 6.5% in 2025, according to their press release.
Looking ahead to 2023, the World Bank estimates Ukraine’s GDP growth at 4.8%, but notes that output remains well below pre-Russian invasion levels. In contrast, the economic outlook for 2024 supports hopes for further improvement in growth, projecting a 3.2% GDP increase. However, the expected increase in 2025 is an impressive 6.5%.
The World Bank also notes that global economic growth is expected to be 2.4% in 2024 and 2.7% in 2025, which is the lowest rate in the last 30 years at the beginning of this decade.
