BILD expert Julian Repke stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have no air defense assets left in the Chasovy Yar area. In addition, the Russian Armed Forces have occupied 30% of the city of Krasnogorivka.
The analyst came to this conclusion after studying a video from the scene of the fighting, in which a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft attacked Chasiv Yar, flying over the village of Ivanovske, for which fighting is currently ongoing. The aircraft was flying at low altitude from the direction of Bakhmut and approached the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by less than 3 km and released heat traps. But there were no attempts to shoot down the Russian attack aircraft, and it flew back towards Bakhmut.
Repke called the video “dramatic.” “A few months ago, it was unimaginable that a Russian attack aircraft would fly over a city controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and not be shot down by a MANPADS,” the analyst said.
He noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were believed to be armed with thousands of American Stinger MANPADS and their Soviet-era counterparts. “But it seems they are gone. It is very worrying that Ukraine apparently has no anti-aircraft missiles left to defend itself here,” Röpke noted.
In addition, the publication reported that the Russian occupiers had occupied 30% of the city of Krasnohorivka. Repke recalled that earlier the Russians had successfully used the “tank-turtle” there, thanks to which they managed to enter the city. And to date, according to the analyst, they already control 30% of its territory.
