On the morning of May 6, an explosion occurred in a bank building in the center of Chernihiv. The incident caused a fire and serious damage to the building. No one was injured.
The Chernihiv regional police received a report of an explosion and fire in a bank. The incident occurred at around 4 a.m. According to preliminary data, the explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device. The bank building suffered serious damage, but fortunately, no casualties were reported.
Rescuers, police officers and explosives experts are working at the scene. Law enforcement agencies are currently investigating the circumstances of the identification of persons who may be related to this incident. According to the information, criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding intentional destruction or damage to property by explosion.
