No serious geomagnetic storms are expected on Earth this coming weekend, June 28 and 29, 2025. This was reported by the Space Weather Prediction Center of the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
According to the forecast, geomagnetic activity will be at the level of K-index 3–4. This indicator indicates weak disturbances in the Earth's magnetic field, which do not affect people's well-being and do not pose a threat to technical systems. Therefore, Ukrainians need not worry about deteriorating health due to magnetic storms.
Experts remind that geomagnetic storms are classified on a nine-point K-index scale. Values of 5 and above are considered storms that can have consequences for people with chronic diseases, cause headaches, weakness or insomnia, and affect the operation of satellites and GPS systems.
However, the current forecast does not foresee any dangers. However, scientists warn that activity indicators may change, as new data is received every three hours. Daily forecasts remain the most accurate, while longer-term forecasts are only approximate.
Recall that monitoring solar activity is important for astronomers, aviation, energy systems, and millions of people sensitive to changes in the geomagnetic background.
