Today, the most popular vacancies in the recruiting centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operators. This was stated by Oleksiy Bezhevets, the Commissioner for Recruiting of the Ministry of Defense.
According to him, the demand for UAV operators remains consistently high, and vacancies for the maintenance of military equipment and weapons are also relevant. "We monitor this dynamics every week. There are surges in certain areas. Traditionally, UAV operators, positions related to the maintenance of military equipment, headquarters positions, logistics are popular," Bezhevets noted.
He stressed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine need volunteers, especially those who can maintain military equipment and various types of weapons, i.e., rifle positions and operators. “Over 6,500 Ukrainians have already taken advantage of the opportunity to join the Defense Forces through recruiting centers,” he added.
There are currently 39 recruitment centers operating in Ukraine. Bezhevets clarified that the employment period for mobilization lasts only a few days, while for contract employment it is slightly longer due to the need to collect a larger number of documents.
Recently, recruiting in the Armed Forces of Ukraine has undergone changes. On September 17, the Verkhovna Rada adopted as a basis Bill No. 12023, which provides for the creation of the Center for Recruiting Foreigners. This step will allow foreigners and stateless persons to perform military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Thanks to these initiatives and new opportunities, the recruitment process in the Armed Forces of Ukraine continues to improve, in particular in the direction of attracting qualified specialists necessary to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities.
