Curfew tightened in Donetsk region

The curfew in the cities of Myrnograd and Selidove in the Donetsk region is being tightened due to the worsening situation on the front and the threat of Russian shelling. This was announced by the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin, on his Telegram channel.

According to the new order, starting August 19, 2024, the curfew in these settlements will last from 3:00 PM to 11:00 AM the next day. Currently, the curfew is in effect from 5:00 PM to 9:00 AM, but due to the increased danger, a decision was made to extend it.

“I urge everyone who still remains in these cities to adhere to the restrictions and not expose themselves to danger,” Vadym Filashkin stressed. He stressed the importance of observing the curfew to ensure the safety of the civilian population in conditions of active hostilities.

Recall that recently, on August 12, the Donetsk region has already changed the curfew time, which depends on the proximity of the settlement to the front line. For cities located less than 10 kilometers from the front, a curfew schedule was established from 17:00 to 09:00. For more distant cities, the curfew is in effect from 21:00 to 05:00.

The tightening of the curfew is related to recent attacks by Russian troops. In particular, on August 17, Russian occupiers struck Myrnograd, resulting in the death of one person and the injury of four others. Several buildings were destroyed and damaged, including an unfinished nine-story building, six multi-story buildings, a pharmacy, a cinema, and two shops.

Today, August 18, the occupiers again shelled Myrnograd with artillery, resulting in the death of a woman born in 1941 and the wounding of another woman, 56 years old. Three private homes were damaged.

The population of the region is urged to be as cautious as possible and strictly adhere to the curfew rules.
