A pre-trial investigation has been completed in Ternopil in the case of a resident of the Lviv region, who is accused of two robberies committed in collusion with a group of people. The case has been sent to court, the Ternopil region police report.
According to the investigation, the 32-year-old suspect participated in the attacks, the victims of which were three citizens - two students and an elderly man. During the crimes, the attackers used medications mixed with alcohol, which deprived the victims of consciousness.
One of the attacks occurred near an entertainment venue in Ternopil. The attackers invited two students to a friendly feast. They “treated” their drinks with a special substance. After losing consciousness, the victims ended up on the beach near the Ternopil pond, where they took their money and mobile phones.
Another case involved a pensioner who agreed to have a drink with strangers near a store. The scenario repeated itself: a spiked drug, fainting, and then the loss of personal belongings.
The total amount of damage caused to the victims amounted to about 50 thousand hryvnias.
The materials regarding the four accomplices are currently being considered in court. The accused, in accordance with Part 4 of Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (robbery committed by a group of persons in advance of a conspiracy), faces from 7 to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
