Despite the current moratorium on tariff increases, some Ukrainians will receive a third gas payment in April 2025. This means that utility costs for them will increase.
Why would a third account appear?
This concerns the payment for maintenance of in-house gas networks. Previously, these costs were covered from other sources, but now they are transferred directly to consumers.
The frequency of charging depends on the age of the gas system in the house:
-
if gas networks are older than 25 years - maintenance is carried out once every three years;
-
if newer – once every five years.
The amount to be paid is determined individually for each house and distributed among the residents.
Will gas tariffs change?
Annual tariffs for most Ukrainians remain unchanged at UAH 7.96 per cubic meter. In general, they will range from UAH 7.79 to UAH 9.99/m³, depending on the supplier.
However, variable monthly tariffs will continue in April, which can reach 20.99 UAH/m³.
Of the nine gas suppliers:
-
five offer both annual and variable monthly pricing,
-
four – only a fixed annual fee.
