There are dead and injured as a result of the Russian missile attack on Odessa

The number of injured is increasing. 20 people were injured. At least two of them are in serious condition.

A 12-year-old boy is among the injured. Doctors are providing assistance to the injured.

The residence of politician Serhiy Kivalov, popularly known as “Harry Potter’s Castle,” is on fire in Odessa.

Media reports say that a former Party of Regions deputy was also injured. There is a video on social media showing him being taken away by an ambulance.

Photos of bloodied bodies near the sea on the health highway leading to the beach are being shared on social media.

On the night of April 23-24, children aged 12 and 9 and two toddlers under one year old were injured in a drone attack in Odessa.

Enhanced attacks

On the night of April 26-27, Russia launched an unusual combined missile strike on Ukraine. Missiles from Tu-95MS and “Daggers” attacked Stryi near Lviv, Prykarpattia, and Dnipro. The main target was the energy sector.

That night, 6 out of 8 Kalibr cruise missiles flying from the Black Sea were also shot down. These sea-based missiles have not flown into Ukraine for a long time.

Russia attacked four DTEK thermal power plants, where “equipment was seriously damaged.”.

Attacks on energy facilities were reported in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where there are also water supply disruptions, in the Lviv region and the Carpathian region.

In the spring of 2024, Russia began a new campaign to destroy Ukraine's energy sector - destroying at least three thermal power plants near Kharkiv, Burshtyn, and Kyiv. It also significantly damaged a number of hydroelectric power plants, including in Zaporizhia and Kaniv.

That is, Russia focused on destroying the shunting generation, which helped to survive peak network loads.

The authorities announced huge damage to the energy sector, and in many regions it was necessary to introduce electricity shutdown schedules. Kharkiv was on the verge of an energy disaster.

On March 21, Russia carried out its first major spring strike after a month-long hiatus, hitting Kyiv. Seventeen people were injured in the capital and region, but the missiles were shot down.

In Kyiv and the region, there was destruction of residential buildings, kindergartens, and industrial facilities.
