A fatal accident occurred in Transcarpathia: a Volkswagen Touran car flew off the road and fell into the Black Tisza River. The incident happened on the H-09 highway in the Rakhiv district, reports the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Zakarpattia region.
On the morning of January 6, the Rescue Service received a report about an accident on the N-09 road within the Rakhiv district.
According to eyewitnesses, a Volkswagen Touran car left the road and fell into the Black Tisza River. As it turned out, the car was occupied by a couple who were probably heading from the village of Bohdan to the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
The driver got out of the car on his own and was able to swim ashore. An emergency medical team was called for him, which transported the victim to a medical facility in Rakhiv. His wife was found 300 meters downstream by the fighters of the state fire-rescue post of the village of Yasinya, who arrived on a call to the scene of the incident. The woman's body was removed from the reservoir and handed over to law enforcement agencies, which are currently investigating the detailed circumstances of the accident.
