A tragedy occurred in Brovary due to a generator installed in the basement of an apartment building. Several people were injured and one person died due to carbon monoxide poisoning, local media reported. The reasons for the use of the generator are currently being established, and law enforcement and rescuers are working at the scene.
Meanwhile, the capital continued to experience power supply problems due to a massive attack on the energy infrastructure. Power outages lasted for more than a day, leaving thousands of families without electricity. According to DTEK, as of now, energy workers have restored the infrastructure, and all homes have received electricity - more than 748 thousand families have electricity again.
Local services remind residents about the safe use of generators, especially indoors. Carbon monoxide is colorless and odorless, and its accumulation in premises can lead to serious consequences. Energy experts urge citizens to check the condition of power grids and follow the rules for safe use of electrical appliances during emergency outages.
