A tragedy occurred in Kyiv on April 7. A 16-year-old boy died as a result of the incident.
According to the information received, a group of 9 young minors purchased low-alcohol drinks on Kontraktova Square and decided to spend time on the embankment, and then took the funicular to continue their walk along Khreshchatyk.
Eyewitness accounts show that when the trailer stopped at one of the stops, a conflict occurred between the young people and an unknown man. The man was aggressive and asked obscene questions, including questions about the young people's readiness to defend their homeland. Eyewitnesses describe the man as an unstable person.
Maksym, one of the participants of the group of teenagers, was the last to leave the trailer. An unknown man approached him and began to brazenly demand answers to his questions, pushing him. This led to Maksym falling, breaking the trailer window and receiving cuts on his neck.
After that, the attacker attacked Maksym and began to choke him.
As a result, the glass severed the carotid artery and the young man died on the spot. It is reported that blood flooded the stairs and the funicular was stopped for some time.
It is known that the person who committed the attack is named Kosov A.V. According to the report, two weeks ago he became a defendant in a domestic violence case.
The attacker has now been detained, and investigations are ongoing. It turned out that he worked for law enforcement agencies. During his detention, his ID and service weapon were found.
The detained law enforcement officer has already been suspended from duty. A complex of operational-investigative actions is currently being conducted. He is being prepared to be charged with premeditated murder under Article 115, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The man could face 7 to 15 years in prison.
