A tragic loss: the former coach of the Ukrainian national football team has left us

Leonid Tkachenko, the former assistant coach of the Ukrainian national football team, died at the age of 70. In 1992, he was part of the coaching staff of the "yellow and blue", working under the leadership of Viktor Prokopenko and together with Mykola Pavlov in one of the matches against Belarus.

Initially, Tkachenko played as a player for Kharkiv "Metalist", and then actively joined coaching activities, first working as an assistant to Yevhen Lemeshko, and later leading this team.

It is important to note that after this period his coaching career developed in Russia, where he became a citizen of the country. Tragically, Leonid Tkachenko died in the city of Kaliningrad.
