US President Donald Trump made a new loud statement about the war in Ukraine. He called on Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky not to strike Moscow, but to Russian leader Vladimir Putin - to agree to the ceasefire agreement for 50 days. Otherwise, according to Trump, Russia will have serious consequences.
This was reported by Reuters, commenting on the position of the American leader, expressed after the appearance of material in Financial Times, which said that Trump allegedly urged Ukraine to increase Ukraine in Russia.
"No, he should not attack Moscow," Trump told journalists in Washington, answering the question whether Zelensky should expand the fighting to the capital of the Russian Federation.
The US president noted that he had not spoken to Putin, but suggested that time for a possible agreement was limited. "If we do not conclude an agreement in 50 days, everything will be very bad," he warned, without specifying what measures are meant.
At the same time, he did not mention direct negotiations with the Kremlin, which could indicate either the lack of specific plans or the conscious concealment of details.
Earlier, answering the question of whom he supports in the war, he said, "I am on what side," and added that "on the side of humanity" because he wants to "stop murder."
This is not Trump's first ambiguous statement in Ukraine. On Monday, he also announced new weapons supply to Ukraine through other countries and threatened Russia with secondary duties in the event of further escalation.
