One of the largest furniture manufacturers in Transcarpathia is considering the possibility of attracting 160 workers from Bangladesh. This was announced by the head of the Transcarpathian Regional Military Administration (OVA). Negotiations are currently underway with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to organize this process.
"This is an important signal for all Transcarpathians - our region is developing rapidly, we have factories and plants that need people. There is no need to go to European countries - a decent salary and working conditions can be found at home," writes the head of the OVA.
Oleh Popenko, the head of the Union of Consumers of Public Utilities, commented on the news, noting that there are "hundreds of thousands" of refugees and internally displaced persons in Ukraine who "have no jobs and exist on the verge of biological survival." And he raises the question of the effectiveness of the employment service.
The employment service responded that over the past year, more than 250 thousand people were employed, including 42 thousand displaced persons.
"I don't know the situation specifically regarding this enterprise and I'm not ready to say without studying the issue why in this particular case the business decided to attract migrants. But in general the situation looks like this: unemployment is rapidly decreasing and is changing into a personnel crisis, because millions of people are at the front or abroad. The problem with attracting personnel is already there, and it will grow... So there will be labor migration, we won't get away from it,"
– wrote Andriy Yanitsky, head of the communications department of the State Employment Service.
