According to the data of a sociological survey, about 32% of Ukrainian citizens aged 16 to 35 years have declared their desire to go abroad for permanent residence, provided such an opportunity exists. At the same time, 45% of young people said that they intend to stay in Ukraine.
The main reasons for going abroad were cited by young people as security, the opportunity to earn more, as well as opportunities for a child. This is evidenced by the survey results of the "Rating" sociological group.
According to the survey data, people from eastern regions, small towns, migrants, men, and young people aged 22-25 years want to leave Ukraine more often.
In addition to security and the opportunity to earn more, young people are looking for better living conditions abroad. Also, some respondents noted that the desire to leave the country is related to the opportunity to travel.
Sociologists noted that the problem of migration from rural areas is related to economic factors. Residents of villages who want to go abroad often explain it as the opportunity to earn more and better job prospects abroad.
Compared to other age groups, for young people aged 16-21, the motives for moving are often the search for better living conditions, self-realization, job prospects and quality education. At the same time, in terms of gender, women more often justify their desire to go abroad with safety factors and opportunities for children, and men with opportunities to travel and prospects for self-realization.
