Trump said that Putin continues the war thanks to expensive oil

US President Donald Trump has said that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin was able to wage a massive war against Ukraine thanks to oil profits. He said that high oil prices — nearly $100 a barrel — gave the Kremlin the resources to finance the fighting.

“It was bringing in huge profits, but now prices have fallen and the war has become less profitable for Russia ,” Trump said.

He also called for the conflict to be resolved as soon as possible, emphasizing its scale and consequences: "There is a real massacre going on there. A terrible massacre that continues .

Previously, Trump repeatedly stated that if he won the election, he would be able to end the war in Ukraine "in 24 hours," but did not provide a specific plan for a settlement.
