The third round of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia can take place in Istanbul in the near future. According to Turkey Minister Hakan Fidan, Moscow has already agreed. Ankara is now waiting for a response from the Ukrainian side.
About it reports the Turkish portal Memurlar.net, quoting the performance of Fidan.
“Russia has declared its readiness for the third round of negotiations in Istanbul. Now we are waiting for Ukraine's response. It was these negotiations that were the closest moment between the parties , ”the Turkish diplomat said.
He also commented on the idea of a possible joint meeting of four leaders-President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, former US President Donald Trump, Turkish President Recep Taiip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"In principle, there are no problems that Mr Trump, Mr Putin and Mr. Zelensky, and our president participated in a joint meeting ," Fidan said.
Earlier, Politico journalist John Hudson reported that Trump, who expects to participate in the US presidential election, could be a mediator in negotiations between Kiev and Moscow. Some political circles of Turkey believe that Ankara could become the perfect platform for such a meeting, given its neutral position and the experience of moderation between the two sides.
Recall that the previous round of negotiations in Istanbul took place on June 2, 2025. Then the parties agreed the format of the exchange of "all on all": it was about prisoners of war of 18-25 years, as well as seriously wounded and seriously ill. The issue of transfer of bodies of 6000 per 6000 people was discussed separately.
Although the statement of readiness for the new round was not heard at the level of the Presidential Office of Ukraine, the sources in Ukrainian diplomatic circles have been hinted by the decisive condition for the inclusion of security guarantees for Ukraine, in particular after meeting in the format of the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland.
