The case of two men accused of raping a 15-year-old girl and robbing her has been referred to court in Kyiv. The incident occurred in the capital's Pechersk district, in an unfinished building where the perpetrators committed the crimes. The defendants, who are currently in custody, face up to 12 years in prison.
Under the procedural guidance of juvenile prosecutors of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office and the Pechersk District Prosecutor's Office of the city, an indictment was sent to the court charging two men with rape and robbery, committed repeatedly by a group of persons under martial law (Part 3 of Article 152, Part 4 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that two previously convicted men, aged 41 and 29, committed sexual acts against a 15-year-old girl in an unfinished building in Pechersk, using threats and violence. After that, they took away her iPhone 12 mobile phone. The perpetrators were detained.
It is noted that the 29-year-old man has been convicted of theft five times by the courts of the Luhansk region since 2011. His 41-year-old accomplice was convicted in the Donetsk region for robbery and causing grievous bodily harm.
The suspects are currently being held without bail at the request of juvenile prosecutors. They face up to 12 years in prison.
