Putin's "Temporary Management": A New Attempt to Manipulate Peace Processes in Ukraine

Vladimir Putin again made a provocative statement, proposing to discuss the possibility of introducing "temporary management" in Ukraine. According to the Russian leader, such management could be carried out under the auspices of the UN and with the participation of other countries, including the US and European partners of Russia. Putin assured that such management would be necessary for holding "democratic elections", and under his control could begin peace negotiations and sign "legitimate documents" that would be recognized worldwide.

Putin's statement made it when communicating with the sailors of the atomic underwater cruiser "Arkhangelsk", and was aimed at creating the appearance of a peace process and expanding the Russian sphere of influence in Ukraine. However, such a proposal caused a sharp reaction from the US and Europe. A representative of the White House National Security Council noted that the issue of authorities in Ukraine is determined by the Constitution of the country and its people, and therefore the "temporary management" cannot be discussed. The United States emphasized that the authorities in Ukraine are the sovereign right of its citizens and no proposals from the outside can influence this process.

Meanwhile, Putin did not miss the question of the Ukrainian Azov Battalion, which, according to him, "acquires actual power." This, according to the Russian leader, is one of the problems for stability in Ukraine. However, the White House quickly responded to his statements, stating that Ukraine would disagree any "temporary management" and that these conversations are unacceptable.

These statements, in particular, call into question the concept of peace negotiations and add even more stress in the international political situation. Putin tries to return to diplomatic initiatives, but his proposals are unacceptable to Kiev and his Western allies, which emphasizes Ukraine's sovereignty and its right to determine the political future independently.

The main question remains whether Putin will be able to find a compromise or new ways to achieve his goals, without violating international rules and laws. At the same time, his ambitions on control of Ukraine continue to disappoint not only Ukrainians, but also an international community, which is set to support Ukraine's independence and territorial integrity.
