The Prime Minister of Georgia, Iraklii Kobakhidze, confirmed that the dismissal of Ukraine's temporary representative in Georgia, Mykhailo Kharyshyn, was due to his purchase of household items, including washing machines.
"According to our information, this was not a political act. A specific representative, if I am not mistaken, who also had diplomatic status, purchased household items. This was deemed inadequate in the context of the ongoing war, and was the reason for his withdrawal. This is information we hold. We are talking about washing machines", Kobakhidze quotes "Echo of the Caucasus".
According to information from the Ukrainian media, at a meeting with the new Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiga, temporary attorney-in-fact Mykhail Kharyshyn raised the issue of replacing washing machines in the embassy.
Sybiga noted that he fired Haryshin due to his "complete misunderstanding of the realities of the diplomacy of a belligerent state."
