Tyshchenko's manipulations in court did not help, and the politician was sent under 24-hour house arrest.
Despite the loss of support, Mykola Tyshchenko continued to hide behind his former connections in the power structures. In court, during the election of a preventive measure in the case of the attack on the former Kraken fighter, he made a statement: “I came to Parliament for the President and I continue to implement his ideas.” However, this manipulation did not help, and the politician was sent under 24-hour house arrest.
It is likely that Tyshchenko's attempts to cover himself with old connections will not help him avoid responsibility in the future. Ahead is an objective and comprehensive investigation into the brazen attack on the defender of Ukraine. Ukrainians in a matter of days collected a record number of votes for a petition to deprive Tyshchenko of his deputy mandate.
Mykola Tyshchenko, who previously held high positions in the Servant of the People party, including deputy chairman of the faction and head of the Transcarpathian regional organization, has long used his closeness to influential figures, in particular the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak. This allowed him to avoid punishment for numerous scandals and violations.
However, the last straw that broke the camel's back was the scandal with the so-called "business trip" to Thailand, after which Tyshchenko was expelled from the party and faction. In Transcarpathia, his reputation was also tarnished, and in the summer of 2022 he was removed from the post of head of the local party branch.
The rejection of Tyshchenko became even more public after the scandalous beating of a military man in Dnipro. Andriy Yermak confirmed his close relationship with Tyshchenko, but clearly stated the lack of support for him from the authorities.
“But that was many years ago. I have long since stopped accepting his actions and do not understand them. Therefore, I do not maintain any relations with him. If someone has forgotten that everyone must bear responsibility for their inadequate actions, regardless of positions or surnames, I advise you to remember this. Such behavior by Tyshchenko is incompatible with the status of a people's deputy,” Yermak said.
