In 2024, the number of cases of desertion and voluntary abandonment of a unit increased sharply in Ukraine

Political scientist Oles Doniy stated that there is a sharp increase in cases of desertion and voluntary desertion in Ukraine. According to official data, 37 thousand such cases were recorded during the seven months of 2024, which significantly exceeds the figures of previous years: in 2023 - 21 thousand, and in 2022 - 9 thousand.

He says that according to official data, 37,000 such cases were recorded in the seven months of 2024, compared to 21,000 in 2023 and 9,000 in 2022.

At the same time, the military, according to him, say that in reality there are twice as many such cases, simply that many are not recorded.

We will remind that the other day the Rada supported a bill that for the first time may not be punished for SZH, if the fighter is ready to return to service.
