Russia is capable of building launch pads for Shahed-type kamikaze drones in record time — just a few months. This is confirmed by an analysis of satellite images conducted by Ukrainian specialists from Ukrainian Intelligence.
New facilities were discovered in the Bryansk and Oryol regions of the Russian Federation, near the villages of Navlya (66 km from the border with Ukraine) and Tsymbulovo (176 km). Construction started in the summer of 2024, and the first drone launches were carried out from there in October.
Each complex is equipped with a road for launching drones from the roof of a car, stationary guides with an accelerator, shelters and storage areas for storing UAVs.
Experts emphasize that theoretically these objects can be destroyed by missile strikes or long-range drones. The most effective methods may be cluster munitions or remote mining, which paralyze the operation of the complexes. However, Ukraine currently does not have a sufficient arsenal of ballistic missiles with cluster warheads and long-range mining means.
An additional complication is the powerful cover of these sites by Russian air defense systems and electronic warfare means.
It was previously reported that a new modification of the Shahed was recorded in Ukraine, under the wings of which the occupiers install two PTM-3 anti-tank mines, which significantly increases the threat from these drones.
